Julianne Kaplan
Julianne began assistant directing NEYT productions with Little Women in the spring of 2006 and went on to assist several shows including The Miracle Worker, The Jungle Book and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She has appeared in alumni productions of The Importance of Being Ernest and Tartuffe, as well as in NEYT’s Happy Faces and Hard Knock Lives. Julianne has taught “Building Theater From the Inside Out,” a class she created for homeschool students and currently teaches “Drama and Dress Up,” NEYT’s youngest class offering, for four and five year olds. In 2008 she joined the staff of the Theater Adventure Program’s youth acting troupes with whom she continues to assist productions as a teacher and choreographer. She also became a participant in Theater Adventure’s adult troupe, with whom she and has appeared in The Wizard of Oz and Oklahoma. Julianne continues to find great inspiration in the Theater Adventure Program, combining her newfound love of working and performing in a community of mixed abilities with her life time love of the arts.
